51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ architecture student Judy Shaban has been accepted into the Summer Academy in Architecture and Urban Studies program in Paris, which will take place from June 23 to August 1, 2025. As part of the program, she will intern with Reid Brewin Architectes (RB-A), a global firm specializing in technology-driven projects such as research centers, laboratories, and sustainable workspaces.
The Summer Academy is co-organized by the French Institute for Culture and Education and Villa Albertine. In 2025, it will be held for the third time and is sponsored by the French construction industry. The program offers senior students and Ph.D. students a unique opportunity for a six-week cultural and professional experience, allowing them to immerse themselves in the architectural world of Paris. The experience begins with a week of visits, seminars, and workshops with French students, exploring the rich urban ecosystem of the French capital. This is followed by a five-week internship at renowned architecture studio Reid Brewin Architectes.
Her mentor, Professor Steffen Lehmann said, “Judy is one of only ten students selected nationwide. During her internship, she will conduct a comparative analysis of various construction types, evaluating them in terms of carbon footprint, cost, and product quality, drawing from real-world experience on the firm’s construction sites.â€
The program includes accommodation, health insurance, and access to all cultural visits, workshops, and seminars. Congratulations, Judy!
