51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ College of Fine Arts Dean Nancy Uscher is pleased to announce an exciting gift from the 22-time Grammy Award-winning, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band U2 to provide scholarship support as well as experiential educational opportunities to 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ School of Music students.
The U2:UV Music Scholarship and Experiential Fund at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, a $300,000 one-time gift, will provide support for access to a stellar music education as well as experiential learning and performance opportunities for School of Music music majors. These opportunities will include student travel and support for creative activities and performances at various international music events.
The fund is named for the band’s groundbreaking ‘U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere’ 40-date run that launched the venue in 2023-2024 and was established as a token of thanks for the warm welcome the band received during their time in Las Vegas.
"On behalf of the College of Fine Arts and the School of Music at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, I am absolutely thrilled to share the news of the incredibly generous and thoughtful gift to 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ from the members of the world-renowned and beloved band U2," said Dean Nancy Uscher. "This gift will transform the lives of our students and give them access to remarkable educational opportunities. We are so grateful for this chance to greatly enrich the college experience and future prospects of our wonderful and worthy students."
U2, comprised of band members Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr., has a long history of supporting music education.
