The Office of General Curriculum Access is seeking a graduate assistant for the Spring 2024 semester with a possibility of an extension extended through the summer. The position will be approximately 20 hours/week.
Position Description
Activities for the GA position include:
- Designing and developing curriculum (e.g., ELA, Math, and Science) for students with extensive support needs that align with the Nevada Alternative Diploma and Nevada Alternate Assessment
- Organizing state professional development activities
- Collaborating with Nevada teachers
- Creating media assets for teaching and learning, including graphics for adapted books, audio recordings, and video tutorials
Position Requirements
- Graduate student in good standing at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ
- Experience working with curriculum development in the areas of reading, math, and science are preferred but not required
Compensation and Benefits
The graduate assistantship will provide:
- Paid tuition (up to nine credits per semester)
- A monthly stipend totaling $8,500 for the semester
- Research and writing opportunities

This newly funded College of Education project is a partnership with the Nevada Department of Education’s Office of Inclusive Education.We are working to provide standards-aligned instructional materials, academic and behavioral support resources, and effective professional development to educators to enhance access to Nevada’s general curriculum.
