Joshua Schoetker is a third-year Ph.D. candidate in the Electrical Engineering program at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ with concentration in Photonics and Quantum Engineering. He has been supported by the NSSTC since 2021 and works under the direction of Prof. Ke-Xun (Kevin) Sun. His research interests include scintillation and solid-state photodetectors, tomography, and machine learning. He has presented research at the SCINT 2022 conference and co-authored work on drift tube-based muon tomography systems. He has also participated in multiple summer internships at the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center () at Los Alamos National Laboratory, conducting research in both muon and neutron detection with organic and gallium-based scintillators.
