Individuals who already have a master’s degree in nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner and meet the admissions qualifications will be allowed to take courses as an advanced graduate certificate-seeking student.
The online Advanced Graduate Certificate in Emergency Nurse Practitioner program uses a variety of teaching strategies designed to actively engage students. Mandatory orientation sessions are held before the beginning of each spring semester to enhance the connections among students and with the nursing faculty. This certificate has mandatory on-campus sessions. Program start is contingent on class size.

Learning Outcomes
- Competently perform medical screening examinations for emergency patients across the lifespan with unforeseen illness or injury of varying complexity.
- Demonstrate proficiency in medical decision making and differential diagnoses formulation for emergency patients across the lifespan with unforeseen illness or injury of varying complexity.
- Develop, implement and evaluate patient management plans for emergency patients across the lifespan with unforeseen illness or injury of varying complexity.
- Analyze patient data to determine appropriate and timely patient disposition including admission, discharge, observation, or transfer of emergency patients across the lifespan with unforeseen illness or injury of varying complexity.
- Apply professional, legal and ethical practice standards in the evaluation and management of emergency patients across the lifespan with unforeseen illness or injury of varying complexity.
- Articulate an understanding of the role of the Emergency Nurse Practitioner as a member of the interdisciplinary emergency healthcare team as well as patient care and department leader.
