As 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ continues on its path to Top Tier, diversity is and will remain a crucial part of the fabric of everything we do. As President, I am committed to diversity and to full participation and full engagement throughout 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ. You can see this commitment in the President's Advisory Council, which meets with me on a regular basis, in the support of 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’s Women’s Council, and especially in 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's Office of Diversity Initiatives. Our commitment is also clear in our policy statement regarding Diversity in Faculty Hiring at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, a policy which was announced jointly by the Executive Vice President & Provost and the Vice President for Diversity Initiatives. Last year, we also initiated the Provost’s Leadership Development Academy, one of whose goals is to increase the representation of women and minority faculty in various leadership positions on campus. I fully support these critical undertakings and encourage all members of the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ community to become familiar with them as we move forward on our Path to Tier One.
