The minor in sustainability and health provides a holistic examination of sustainability's role in public health. This minor examines the impact of sustainability practices on individual, environmental, and population health through cultural, economic, technological, and policy practices. Students will learn how to objectively evaluate sustainability options using analytical tools and techniques to implement a health-driven sustainability plan. The 24-credit minor complements a variety of study areas including urban planning, sociology, environment sciences, and public health.

Learning Outcomes
- Comprehend the influences and impact of environmental factors on human health.
- Articulate the interconnected and interdisciplinary nature of environmental studies and health to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Reflect critically on their roles and identities as citizens, consumers, and environmental actors in a complex, interconnected world.
- Identify and address major sustainability needs and concerns of populations using the concepts of sustainability and health and the basic processes, approaches, and interventions.
- Describe the socioeconomic, behavioral, biological, environmental, and other factors that impact sustainability, human health and contribute to health disparities.
