Alt Breaks Post-Finals Trip - Harm Reduction in San Francisco, CA (apply by April 16)
Description
On this trip, students will learn about current community projects and advocacy efforts in the greater San Francisco area. Community engagement activities may include food donation sorting, harm reduction supplies collecting, and safer sex kit assembly with local health-focused organizations. Students will end the trip with the opportunity to continue their engagement in the trip topic back in Las Vegas.
Price
$150 Total = $50 mandatory deposit at time of application; $100 for final confirmation if selected.
Students can also apply for travel grants in the main application.
Admission Information
All students interested in attending an Alternative Break Trip must first submit an application and mandatory $50 deposit.
Applications are due by 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16.
To apply, complete the following steps:
- Sign into your WebTrac account
- If you need to create a WebTrac account for the first time, please select the "Contact Us" button at the top of the page and submit a request to setup a WebTrac account. Once the request is received by a team member, they will send a registration link to your student email address.
- If this does not work, first contact Outdoor Adventures at srwc.oa@unlv.edu or 702-774-7130 for assistance.
- If you need additional assistance, please contact Brigette Sohn at brigette.sohn@unlv.edu.
- If you are still experiencing difficulties after trying the above options, please email altbreaks@unlv.edu BEFORE the application deadline to express your trip interest and request further assistance.
- Once you are logged into WebTrac, use the below instructions to find our application page to select your desired trip and follow the application prompts provided:
- Select "Search" on the navigation menu, then select "Activity Search."
- Clear the selection in the search box at the top left portion of the page.
- Select "Service Learning and Leadership" and search.
- Select "May Trip 2025 App & Deposit (Harm Reduction/SF)" to add to cart.
- Complete the questions and check box for agreement to waiver terms.
- Finish application by paying the $50 deposit.
