Managing a lab involves a unique skill set beyond scientific expertise, including creating the necessary structure and infrastructure for success. This workshop is designed for graduate students preparing for leadership roles in a research environment. Learn and discuss overall laboratory management and operation strategies. The combination of team supervision, budget management, sustainability and infrastructure, operational safety, deliverables, and the role of efficient workflow will be discussed. The examples will help provide context and uncover tips for creating a productive, collaborative, and well-organized lab environment.
