Description

To be a first-generation college student is to be a trendsetter. While the path through higher education presents new challenges to tackle and new tips to learn, it is also a time to celebrate your accomplishment. You deserve to be here; you made it! 

Event Schedule

  • 3 to 4 p.m. - An informative panel with 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ faculty, staff, and students.
  • 4 to 6 p.m. - Mixer with your Graduate Registered Student Organizations and the announcement of the First Generation Grad Rebel Photo Contest at 5:30 p.m.

First-Generation Grad Rebel Photo Contest

From Oct. 11 to Nov. 1, Grad Rebels are encouraged to tell their compelling first-gen story through a series of photographs for the "I Am the First" Grad Rebel Photo Contest. This competition aims to inspire and will showcase creativity, storytelling, and what being a first-generation student means to you.

Submissions should capture your response to what it means to be a first-gen student. You may submit one to three original images taken with a camera or phone, and all images must meet the guidelines listed on the .

Admission Information

Open to all 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ graduate and professional students. Please for the panel portion of the event. You may also sign up for a at the mixer.
