Join us for "Mindfulness & Brain Health," a refreshing morning of relaxation and wellness at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art. This free community event offers a peaceful break from the holiday rush, combining expert wellness insights along with guided mindfulness activities.
The morning begins at 9 a.m. with Chia-Liang (Leo) Dai, Ph.D., CHES, associate professor of health education in the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ College of Education. As a health education expert with interdisciplinary experience in teacher education, counseling psychology, and public health, Dai is known for his integrative approach to whole-person health and wellness in school and community settings.
From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon), try different relaxing mindfulness activities:
- 10 a.m.-11 a.m.: Tai Chi - Combine flowing gentle movements with breathing exercises to enhance the mind-body connection.
- 10 a.m.-12 p.m. (noon): Guided Mindfulness Tour - Take a peaceful walk through the Donald H. Baepler Xeric Garden while practicing mindfulness.
- 10 a.m.-12 p.m. (noon): Gratitude Art Workshop - Cultivate gratitude through artistic self-expression.
- 11 a.m.-12 p.m. (noon): Yoga Nidra - Lay down comfortably while being guided through deep relaxing meditation.
You will walk away with practical tips that will last a lifetime. Join us anytime during the morning for this refreshing experience. Registration is required and space is limited.
