All classified positions must be applied for through the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ online application system. There are links at the bottom of every classified job announcement that direct you to the applicant portal where you are to apply. The 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Employment Services Office has computers available for job application purposes. Our office is located in the Campus Services Building on the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Campus, Room 237. Office hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
Your local library may also have computers available for public use. If you are unable to apply online, please contact our Employment Services Office at 702-895-3504.
If a job announcement requires you to attach a cover letter and resume, you must attach these documents to be considered for the position. If you do not attach the required documents, your application will not be reviewed. Please be sure to read the job announcement carefully as some job announcements may require reference documents as well.
Noncontinual recruitments have an application deadline. Continual recruitments are recruitments that have no deadline date and for which we are always accepting applications. When a position for a continual recruitment becomes available, the employment department reviews applications at that time. If the department recruiting for the position is interested in interviewing you, they will contact you directly.
All non-continual recruitments have an application deadline. The hiring department does not begin reviewing applications until after the deadline date.
Job postings typically include the name of a search chair from the hiring department. The review of application materials is conducted by the department with the job opening. For general questions regarding your application, call the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Human Resources Recruitment Line at 702-895-3504 or email us at applicant.inquiry@unlv.edu. A recruitment representative will respond to your inquiry in a timely manner.
Recruitments can vary in length from several weeks to months. Several factors determine the length of a recruitment. How long the recruitment is posted, the number of applicants, the number of individuals who need to review application materials, and testing requirements are several of the factors.
