Description

Explores the relationship between human beings and the physical environment on the North American continent. Examines the way in which different cultural groups have used and transformed the continent. Examines the ebb and flow of consciousness about the environment from its roots in the nineteenth century to the rise of environmentalism in the twentieth century. This course is crosslisted with HIST 641. Credit at the 600-level requires additional work.
