This scholarship is established to honor Samuel A. and Jean V. Gullo, parents of Catherine G. Bellver Distinguished Professor of Spanish at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ. This fund honors their memory and perpetuates the generosity they demonstrated during their lifetime.
The Samuel A. and Jean V. Gullo Scholarship shall be awarded to a student(s) meeting the following criteria:
- Student must major in Spanish;
- First preference to a student(s) who is pursuing an M.A. in Spanish. If no worthy candidate is available, then the award may be given to an undergraduate Spanish major with a class standing of junior or senior;
- Student must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher;
- Student must be full-time if undergraduate, or part-time or full-time if graduate; and
- Student must be formally admitted to 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ.
Recipients may reapply for this scholarship in subsequent years, provided they maintain the scholarship criteria and remain in good standing with the institution.
*Unless otherwise noted, all students who fill out a FAFSA or alternate need form and meet the criteria for the scholarship will be considered. No other application is needed.
*Selected award winner’s name is due to the College of Liberal Arts Dean’s office by December 1st.
