About the Program

Our pulmonary & critical care medicine fellowship program is designed to provide fellows with a balanced exposure to a wide variety of pulmonary diseases and critical care conditions through experiences in the ICU, inpatient consult services, and outpatient continuity clinics. Fellows will learn how to make diagnostic assessments and acquire skills in procedures relevant to practice as an independent Pulmonary and Critical Care specialist by the completion of the fellowship. Procedures include bronchoscopy, chest tube placement/thoracentesis, airway management/intubation, central venous/arterial catheter placement, pulmonary artery catheter placement, and critical care ultrasonography.

Additional procedures that fellows will be exposed to in the ICU may include percutaneous tracheostomy. Fellows will also receive training in interpretation of pulmonary function tests, chest radiology, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, and sleep studies.

Mission

Provide outstanding clinical and research experience to fellows who will become leaders in their respective field.

Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ offers a dynamic clinical fellowship, where fellows rotate between University Medical Center (our main training site), VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System, and Michael O'Callaghan Federal Medical Center.
