51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Madrigal Invitational Festival

About the Festival and Participation

Eligibility

The following are invited to participate in this year's festival:

  • Choirs from public and private high schools in Nevada and neighboring states
  • Choirs of all sizes, configurations, and ability levels are welcome

Teachers/directors are encouraged to register their madrigal or chamber choir first, followed by other intermediate ensembles. Depending on the number of registration requests, advanced ensembles are accepted first. Be sure to indicate the level of each ensemble when registering.

Teachers/directors can register their ensemble(s) using the online registration form below. Teachers will be notified of registration confirmation no later than Sept. 23.

Cost

There is a $75 fee per registered ensemble. We will have refreshments available after each concert session for students, parents, and directors.

Repertoire

Choirs select their own repertoire, usually music that has been prepared for a fall concert or upcoming December/holiday program. Please view this experience as a "choral forum" as well as a formal concert performance. Each ensemble may sing two or three selections, and there will be adjudication. You are welcome to bring repertoire in progress, demonstrate how your choir vocalizes, and share new ideas.

If time allows, we will open the floor after each presentation so that our students and the audience may ask questions and make constructive comments. This rollicking conversational atmosphere is an excellent (and fun!) opportunity for our singers to open their ears to the sounds around them and to articulate their reactions in a positive manner.

A group song is performed with everyone in the concert hall at the end of each session.

Attire

Ensembles are encouraged to wear their formal concert attire, if available.

Registration

Registration requests must be submitted through the online form by Friday, October 4.

Please respond early. This year's festival participants will be based upon receipt of the registration form. The $75 fee is requested to be post-dated no later than Friday, November 1.
