Katherine Hertlein (Medicine) and Edwin Oh (Medicine and Sciences) are recipients of the 2022 Distinguished Barrick Scholar Award, given to senior faculty to honor excellence in research. Hertlein, a professor in the couple and family therapy program in the department of psychiatry and behavioral health, and Oh, associate professor of internal medicine, were honored during 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's recent Academic Achievement Awards Ceremony. Hertlein is a prolific researcher and author of 12 books who created the first comprehensive framework detailing the effect of technology on relationships. Oh leads the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ wastewater surveillance program, helping public health agencies detect viruses and COVID variants in sewage. Oh also was honored with a Community-Based Research Faculty Award.
