Dr. Marc J. Kahn (Medicine) published a paper with his colleagues titled, "The Tulane accelerated physician training program: a novel combination of scholarship and service," in the journal Medical Teacher. The paper describes a novel program designed to allow talented undergraduates to complete a BS and an MD degree in six years. The program is unique in also requiring a year of public service with AmeriCORPS VISTA. Kahn and his colleagues in the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Honors College and the colleges of Fine Arts, Sciences, and Liberal Arts are looking for ways to start similar creative programs for the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ community.
