Nick Carozza (Music) will compete as a national finalist in the Woodwind Competition. He earned this opportunity after winning the Nevada State and Southwest Regional Division of the MTNA Young Artist Woodwind competition. A second-year D.M.A. student at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, Carozza has been studying oboe for 14 years and is currently a student of Stephen Caplan. He received a B.M. from Colorado Mesa University studying with William Aikens and M.M. from the University of Alabama studying with Mary Lindsey Bailey and Sara Renner. The national winner of this competition receives a cash prize and will perform in a winners concert during the MTNA National Conference. The three-tiered MTNA competitions begin at the state level. Winners of each state competition advance to the video-only division competition. Division winners then proceed to the National Competition Finals. You can hear Carozza perform at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ with the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Symphony Orchestra on Feb. 26, Mar. 26, and May 4, and the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Wind Orchestra on April 12.
