Sunny Gittens (Student Life), Jenna-Weglarz-Ward (Education) and Claire Tredwell (51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ/CSUN Preschool) were awarded a $460K Child Care Access Means Parents in School grant from the Department of Education.
These funds for child care access are vital as they will enable 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ to provide stipends to low-income students with young children towards the costs of childcare. Participating student/parents will receive parent education and support in addition to the childcare stipends. It’s a true win-win for both our students and their children, as we’ll be able to keep more of our students in school and on-track to graduate while at the same time opening doors to quality early childhood education for our students' children. More information about how 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ students can apply to participate in the program will be announced by the end of the fall semester.
