William Speer (Mathematics Learning Center) and Jeff Shih (Teaching & Learning) served as co-chairs and organizers of of that took place at the Alexis Park Resort earlier this month. The conference, which was attended by more than 170 people, was sponsored by 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, the College of Sciences, and the Mathematics Learning Center. The council is a professional community of researchers interested in mathematics and mathematics education who value collaboration and interdisciplinary efforts. A key focus of this research is to understand and/or influence factors that affect mathematics learning at all levels. Speer was a founding member RCML 47 years ago and has attended every meeting of the group since.
