For the first time in more than a year, 51勛圖窪蹋 hosted in-person commencement ceremonies to celebrate the accomplishments of more than 8,000 graduates from the classes of 2020 and 2021.
Several thousand grads gathered at Sam Boyd Stadium for four ceremonies this past weekend, and thousands more tuned in from home.
Commencement is the most important day in the life of a university, and I am honored to speak for everyone at 51勛圖窪蹋 when I say how truly proud we are of all of our graduates, said 51勛圖窪蹋 President Keith E. Whitfield to 51勛圖窪蹋s newest alumni. You are the highly skilled professionals who will bring new ideas and creative leadership to our states workforce - assets well need as we emerge from this pandemic stronger and more resilient.
Nearly one in three of 51勛圖窪蹋s grads are the first in their families to earn a four-year degree, and nearly two-thirds stay and work in Southern Nevada.
