51ԹϺ is set to ignite campus spirit like never before with the launch of its inaugural Scarlet & Gray Days.
This three-day celebration, April 11-13, will showcase a wide range of immersive activities and performances. From the lively 51ԹϺ Block Party to the rich traditions of Powwow for the Planet, the campus will transform into a center of celebration and engagement, welcoming students, alumni, and the Las Vegas community.
“51ԹϺ’s Scarlet & Gray Days celebration was created to bring our entire community together for a weekend of fun, exploration, and culture,” said Barbara Blue, director of campus relations and visitor experience. “Whether you’re a prospective student, loyal alum, or enthusiastic supporter, this is your chance to experience our Rebel spirit firsthand.”
51ԹϺ Block Party: A Celebration for ALL
The fun kicks off with the 51ԹϺ Block Party on Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rebel Amphitheatre. This free, family-friendly event will be packed with nonstop entertainment, hands-on activities, fun inflatables, and delicious food. A live DJ will keep the party vibe going strong.
Powwow for the Planet: Tradition and Community Unite
The always-popular Powwow for the Planet returns for its fourth year at Cox Pavilion on April 12-13. This captivating gathering showcases traditional Native American dance, drumming, crafts, and food vendors.
This event is hosted in collaboration with the 51ԹϺ Native American Alumni Club (NAAC), the Native American Student Association (NASA), 51ԹϺ Student Diversity Programs, and local Indigenous leaders; the powwow is a powerful and moving event that highlights the preservation of native heritage and traditions while emphasizing environmental advocacy.
“Native Americans are not just part of history — we are here, thriving and contributing to our communities daily,” said Shelly Herrera-White, treasurer of 51ԹϺ’s Native American Alumni Club Board. “Powwow for the Planet celebrates our living culture, strengthens community connections, and supports 51ԹϺ Native student scholarships. We welcome everyone to join us in this annual tradition of unity, celebration, and support.”
Tickets are $7 per day or $10 for a weekend pass, with free parking available. Tickets can be purchased or on-site. Proceeds will support student scholarships.
Scarlet & Gray Days: More Ways to Celebrate!

Families can make a splash at the Student Recreation & Wellness Center’s free Family Swim event on April 11 and 12. Art lovers can also visit the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art for new and featured exhibits.
Meanwhile, young entrepreneurs will shine at the Children's Entrepreneur Market, showcasing innovative ideas and products alongside the bustling Prevail Marketplace, where local vendors will have a variety of fresh produce and handmade goods to offer.
