Learn about some of the cool features of DesertSol, 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’s entry in the prestigious U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 2013, from engineering student Iani Batilov. Team Las Vegas is one of 20 collegiate teams worldwide tasked with designing, building and maintaining a sustainable solar-powered house.
Batilov is a part of the Team Las Vegas’ structural engineering group. The home's design won first place in the Fred and Harriet Cox Senior Design Competition, held by the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering. Members of the structural team include Joanna Ayson, Russell Mclellan and Ankush Shdev.
