Biography

Daniel Young joined 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's Department of Physical Therapy during fall 2007. He teaches courses that touch on topics including functional training and acute care, physical therapy administration, and directed research within the graduate doctor of physical therapy and School of Integrated Health Sciences Ph.D. programs.

Young’s research focuses broadly health services in the specific areas of acute care physical therapy, rehabilitation epidemiology, and physical therapy. His research aims to combat the immobility harm experienced by patients in the hospital through better understanding of the access to, outcomes from, and costs associated with inpatient rehabilitation efforts.

Young has been an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2001, and is a member of its acute care and education specialty sections. Young also has an appointment as an adjunct associate professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine's Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, where he collaborates with the Johns Hopkins Activity and Mobility Promotion (JH-AMP) program. He has also worked with the VA Southern Nevada as a research associate.
