Eduardo A. Robleto
Biography
Eduardo Robleto is a microbiologist and expert in DNA repair, mutagenesis, and bacterial genetics.
His research focuses on mutation, particularly the cellular processes that generate mutations in non-replicating cells. These processes are important in evolution as they apply to antibiotic resistance in human pathogens and to the formation of tumors in tissue.
Robleto has earned funding from the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for his work on the study exploring how microbes, including bacterial pathogens, adapt to inhospitable environments or become resistant to antibiotics.
He is the state project coordinator for Nevada INBRE, part of the NIH IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence. NV INBRE is designed to help traditionally underfunded states build biomedical infrastructure through research and educational opportunities.
