Biography
Jeffrey T. Child studies how family members influence each other’s online privacy practices, and reactions to poor privacy/disclosure policy.
Much of his research examines how people regulate their private information and choose what to disclose on social media. Child’s published work has looked at Facebook’s privacy management, media use in family communication, and what causes breakdowns in communication to occur.
He has been featured in the Journal of Family Communication, Western Journal of Communication, Communication Studies, Communication Quarterly, New Media & Society, Communication Education, Journal of Intercultural Communication Research, and Computers in Human Behavior.
