Biography

Martin Schiller's work is focused on short functional peptides, bioinformatics, and HIV. Schiller’s research has resulted in 60 publications supported mostly by 12 research grants from the National Institutes of Health.

He has received a number of awards, produced a suite of bioinformatics tools, and is involved in commercialization of some of his research projects. He is now the executive director of the Nevada Institute of Personalized Medicine.

When Martin Schiller decided to launch his own company based off the research he did at 51�ԹϺ��, he picked Las Vegas despite the prospect of being one of only a handful of biotechnology firms in the valley.

Contrary to what many people think, there are only about 2,000 medicines approved by the Federal Drug Administration for people. And a quarter of those are biological products, or “biologics,” including vaccines, gene therapy, tissues and similar medicines—like insulin, for example.
