Tim Grigsby
Biography
Tim Grigsby is a public health scientist and expert in drug misuse and addiction, the long-term health effects of childhood trauma, and research methodology for public health research.
A 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ School of Public Health assistant professor of social and behavioral health, Grigsby's research examines the contributing factors and causes of substance misuse in different populations based on age, race/ethnicity, and sex/gender. Relatedly, he has explored the unique effect of childhood trauma on substance misuse and other adverse mental, physical, and behavioral health outcomes.
Grigsby has published extensively on addictive behaviors and has developed screening tools and evaluated public health programs to improve health funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). His more recent studies have looked into effective screening approaches for identifying individuals experiencing substance misuse, but who do not qualify as having a substance use disorder.
