The Beethoven 250 Project performs its first 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ concert at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27 in the Rando-Grillot Recital Hall of the Beam Music Center. Conceived by music professor Mykola Suk and presented by The Investment Counsel Company, the Beethoven 250 Project is a two-year series of concerts celebrating the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth and the lasting influence of his works. Each concert is performed by top-rate local musicians, including 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ faculty and members of the Las Vegas Philharmonic.
The first concert features Beethoven Piano Concerto no. 4 in G major - Beethoven's chamber version for piano and strings; Piano Concerto no. 5 in E-flat major, "Emperor," for piano and strings. Musicians are Mykola Suk, piano; Shakeh Ghoukasian, violin; Dmytro Gnativ, violin; Hanna Suk, viola; Yuxin Zhao, viola; Adam Stiber, cello; Brycen Ingersoll, double bass.
The concerts are free and open to the public.
The next 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ performance is at 4 p.m. on Nov. 24 and features Violin Sonata No. 4 in A minor, Op. 23; Piano Sonata No. 28 in A major, Op. 101; and Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 36. Musicians are Timothy Hoft, piano; Kelsea Au, violin; and Jeremy Russo, cello.
