Beethoven 251 — offspring of the Beethoven 250 Project — performs in concert 4 p.m. Dec. 12 in the Rando-Grillot Recital Hall of the Beam Music Center.
Conceived by music professor Mykola Suk and presented by The Investment Counsel Company in cooperation with the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ College of Fine Arts, the Beethoven 250 Project was a two-year series of concerts celebrating the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth and the lasting influence of his works. This final concert of the series will be performed by top-rate local musicians, including 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ faculty and members of the Las Vegas Philharmonic.
The concert is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.
The program includes Piano Quartet No. 3 in C major, WoO 36, No. 3; Sehnsucht ("Nostalgia") WoO 134; Six Songs, Op. 48 (Lyricist: Christian Fürchtegott Gellert); Allegretto for Piano Trio in B-flat major, WoO 39; and Piano Quartet in E-flat major, Op. 16.
