Educational displays, informational booths, environmental films, and band performances will be among the offerings at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's Earth Day 1995, scheduled to take place April 21.
The Earth Day celebration will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 9 p.m. on the academic mall. The "price" of admission is one aluminum can. Proceeds from the can recycling will be used to provide scholarships to 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ students.
1995 marks the 25th anniversary of Earth Day. While the official Earth Day is April 22, a decision was made this year to switch the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ event to a Friday to encourage more university students to participate.
Also, hundreds of Clark County School District students will be making field trips to campus for Earth Day this year since the celebration is on a school day.
51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's Earth Day celebration is co-sponsored by the university and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
