The Home Away From Home Program, sponsored by the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Alumni Association held its Family Appreciation Dinner April 13 at the Richard Tam Alumni Center, on the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ campus.
The program matches out-of-town and international 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ students with Las Vegans who extend their friendship to the students during the school year. Students benefit from this program in many ways and it helps them to feel more "at home" while attending college far from their own families.
More than 180 guests were in attendance, including regents Shelley Berkley and Carolyn Sparks.
Fred Albrecht and Carl Cook, the director and assistant director of Alumni Relations greeted the many guests along with Sharlene Flushman, the program coordinator, and Susie Godown, the program's assistant coordinator.
A video presentation about the Home Away From Home Program was shown after dinner which depicted many of the students and families in the program.
