A $500 scholarship for 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ students interested in Indian-Jain philosophy will be awarded for the first time this spring.
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
* Be a regularly admitted 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ student with a minimum grade point average of 3.0.
* Have successfully completed at least one course in Indian philosophy.
* Possess both a demonstrated interest in, and the potential to contribute to, the study of Indian-Jain philosophy.
* Submit a written statement detailing interest in Indian-Jain philosophy and a sample paper written on a related subject.
The application deadline for the scholarship to be awarded this spring is March 22. The deadline for the scholarship to be awarded in the spring of 1997 is Dec. 13.
The scholarship money is being donated by the Jain Academic Foundation of North America through 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's philosophy department.
