Earvin "Magic" Johnson, who had been scheduled to speak at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ on Dec. 1, has canceled his appearance, citing scheduling conflicts, according to David Turner of 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's student government.
Johnson was to have been the featured speaker for 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's observance of World AIDS Day.
Johnson is the former Los Angeles Laker basketball star who retired in 1991 after disclosing that he had contracted HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.
