ABC news correspondent Michel McQueen is replacing ABC's Carole Simpson as moderator of tonight's Barrick Lecture Series panel discussion about diversity.
Simpson had to withdraw as moderator because she is covering President Clinton's impeachment trial.
McQueen has been with ABC since 1992. During that time she has won one Emmy award and been nominated for two others. Currently, her primary assignment for the network is with Nightline.
The panel discussion will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall. The topic is "Diversity in the Next Millennium: Have We Truly Made Progress? Where Are, or Where Should We Be, Going?" Free tickets still are available for the event and can be picked up at the Performing Arts Center box office at Ham Concert Hall.
Panelists will be Linda Chavez, president of the Center for Equal Opportunity; William Gray III, the former congressman who now heads The College Fund/UNCF; and author and historian David Halberstam.
The Barrick Lecture Series, funded through a grant from philanthropist Marjorie Barrick presents nationally and internationally known speakers from a variety of fields each year at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ.
