Richard Morgan, dean of 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's William S. Boyd School of Law, has been named interim dean of the College of Business, effective Jan. 1, President Carol C. Harter announced today. Morgan will continue as dean of the law school.
"Dean Morgan is an able and respected administrator," Harter said. "I have complete confidence in his ability to lead the College of Business while a committee conducts a national search for a new dean."
During the six months in which he serves as interim dean of the College of Business, Morgan and Associate Dean Nasser Daneshvary will administer the college as a team. Morgan will have overall authority for the Business College and will represent the college within the university and in the external university community; Daneshvary will be responsible for personnel matters within the college, according to Provost Douglas Ferraro.
Morgan is expected to serve through June 30, 1999. He will succeed Dean Elvin Lashbrooke, who recently announced his resignation.
"I am truly hopeful that, with this change in the Business College's administration, we will all focus on the many positive aspects of the college and celebrate the gains the college has made in curriculum revision, particularly in the MBA program, and the hiring of new faculty," Ferraro said.
