The 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ department of dance presents "In Flow" at 7:30 p.m., March 28, and at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on March 29 in the Judy Bayley Theatre.
Choreography is by dance faculty Victoria Dale and Richard Havey with special guest artists Eric Bean, Donald Williams, and Caine Keenan.
Bean received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance education from University of the Arts; double emphasizing in modern dance & choreography. Immediately after completion of his undergraduate program, he was invited to join the world renowned Koresh Dance Company under the direction of artistic director/choreographer/founder Ronen Koresh. He received opportunities to work with and perform works by pioneers in the dance community including: Donald Byrd (Spectrum Dance Theatre, Color Purple Musical), Robert Battle (Battleworks, Alvin Aliey American Dance Theatre) and Ohad Naharin (Batshava Dance Company) to name a few.
Williams, a Chicago native, studied first with Larry Long of the Ruth Page Foundation then accepted a scholarship to Dance Theatre of Harlem in New York City and subsequently joined the DTH company. He became a principal dancer in 1983 and ended a 27-year company career as premier danseur in 2004.
Keenan is new to the Las Vegas area after having spent eight years with internationally renowned Ririe Woodbury Dance Company of Salt Lake City, dancing on stages across the United States and Europe. His work with RWDC has allowed him to hone his creative point of view as both a performer, dance educator, and choreographer.
