After an extensive national search, Frederick P. Conboy, who has more than 18 years of university development experience, has been selected as 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's new associate vice president for development. In his new role, Conboy will work through the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Foundation.
Conboy, who most recently served as senior development officer at Arizona State University, also worked for more than 16 years at the Kansas University Endowment Association. He began his new position at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ on May 1.
"Fred brings to the foundation a level of experience and knowledge that will help to strengthen and enhance our programs," said John Gallagher, 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ vice president for development and 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Foundation executive director. "We are confident that Fred was the best choice out of an excellent pool of candidates. We are very pleased that he has agreed to join our development team."
The position of associate vice president was recently established to help meet the demands of the university's tremendous growth. As associate vice president, Conboy will report to the vice president for development and will supervise the work of the development officers who work directly with the deans of the university's colleges.

Conboy has extensive development experience. Programs he has led and managed have achieved consistent growth in major and planned gifts, both for endowment and operational funds. He has held staff leadership roles in two major capital campaigns, one for $265 million and another for $400 million, and has also administered successful donor research, proposal development, stewardship and solicitation programs.
Conboy received his bachelor of arts degree in English from Kansas University.
