51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ will mark national TRiO/GEAR UP Day with a celebration to honor the successes of current and former program participants and to recognize Linda Young, President of Clark County School District Board of Trustees, with the Educational Pioneer Award.

The Center for Academic Enrichment and Outreach at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ coordinates the largest suite of federally funded TRiO and GEAR UP programs in the nation. The programs help first generation and low-income middle and high school students with academic counseling and tutoring, personal counseling, mentoring and financial guidance to help them succeed and ultimately attend college.
Event attendees will include students and staff from area middle schools, high schools and colleges who participate in the TRIO and GEAR UP programs. Congressional representatives and other elected officials, NSHE regents, university administrators and Clark County School District administrators, counselors, and teachers are also expected to attend.
Close to 30,000 local students are served by 19 federally funded 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ TRiO and GEAR UP programs. Learn more on the Center for Academic Enrichment and Outreach page.
