The 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Performing Arts Center, a home for Southern Nevada's performing arts for 38 years, recently announced its 2013-14 season. Four distinct series comprise the season: the acclaimed Charles Vanda Master Series; the Allegro Guitar Series at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ; the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Performing Arts Center Series; and the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Chamber Music Series, co-produced with the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Department of Music.
The 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Performing Arts Center continues the Design Your Own Series subscription, offering patrons an early opportunity to select a variety of shows at a discounted price. Subscription benefits include early notice about other 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Performing Arts Center offerings and discounts to bring friends or family. Excellent seats are still available.
The season opens Sept. 19 with La Revue de Cuisine. In this 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Chamber Music Series event, faculty and guest musicians perform a program with infusions of jazz and popular dance - from the Tango to the Charleston - in Bohuslav Martinu's ballet and other works.
Additional performances in the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Chamber Music Series include the Fry Street Quartet, Oct. 22; the Axiom Brass Quintet, Jan. 30; and Three Times Four, Feb. 20.
The Charles Vanda Master Series opens Nov. 2 featuring Peter Nero with the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Jazz Symphony Orchestra in "The Gershwin Project." Perhaps the "perfect pop conductor" (Philadelphia Inquirer), Nero performs and conducts a delightful evening of Gershwin melodies, including "Someone to Watch Over Me" and excerpts from Porgy and Bess.
The Vanda Master Series also welcomes the Moscow Festival Ballet performing Cinderella, Feb. 1; and the Haifa Symphony Orchestra of Israel, featuring Boguslaw Davidow as guest conductor and Roman Rabinovich on piano, March 13.
The Allegro Guitar Series at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ features Mak Grgic, Nov. 19; Duo Siqueira Lima, Feb. 15; and, the VIDA Guitar Quartet (Mark Ashford, Mark Eden, Helen Sanderson, and Christopher Stell), April 10.
The 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Performing Arts Center is also pleased to present the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble performing Gypsy Romance, Sept. 26; Hal Holbrook in Mark Twain Tonight!, Feb. 22; Repertory Dance Theatre performing Elements and featuring 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ dance students, March 8; and Grammy-nominated American contemporary Jazz band The Rippingtons featuring Russ Freeman, April 26.

About the Performing Arts Center
Founded in 1976, the Performing Arts Center at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ is Southern Nevada's original performing arts venue, celebrating nearly 40 years of arts in Las Vegas. Located on the north end of the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ campus, the PAC hosts a variety of performances and is home to the Charles Vanda Master Series.
