The Performing Arts Center at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ presents legendary composer and conductor Marvin Hamlisch in "The World of Marvin Hamlisch" at 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 22 as part of the Best of the New York Stage series.
Hamlisch, performing his most famous songs from "A Chorus Line," "The Goodbye Girl," "The Way We Were," and many others, will be accompanied by members of the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Symphony Orchestra and 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Jazz Ensembles.
As a composer, Hamlisch has won virtually every major award that exists: three Oscars, four Grammys, four Emmys, a Tony, and three golden Globes. His groundbreaking show, "A Chorus Line," received a Pulitzer Prize.
Tickets to Marvin Hamlisch are $35, $45, and $60 and can be purchased at the Performing Arts Center Box Office at 895-ARTS (2787) or by visiting 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏTickets.com. Student rush tickets are $10 each and available one hour prior to each event, based on availability and with valid student I.D. 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ faculty and staff discounts also are available. The box office is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Founded in 1976, the Performing Arts Center at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ continues to be Southern Nevada's premier performing arts venue.
