The 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Symphony Orchestra joins forces with Las Vegas Academy Orchestra to perform the final concert of its season at 3 p.m. on May 5 in Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall. The program includes Gustav Mahler's First Symphony, "Titan."

The 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Symphony Orchestra is composed of undergraduate and graduate music majors, minors, and non-music majors. Its mission includes:
- Training music majors to become professional performers and teachers.
- Introducing non-music majors to a high level of music-making.
- Enriching the cultural life of 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ and the Las Vegas community.
The orchestra presents as many as eight programs each season including a variety of standard symphonic orchestral repertoire, ranging from early Baroque through modern contemporary, and one complete staged opera. The final concert of each season features the student winner of the annual Solo Concerto Competition.
