Research and analysis firm Applied Analysis has reached a unique public-private agreement with 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ that gives the university's professors, researchers and students access to , a powerful real-time data analysis tool.
MyResearcher.com will play an immediate role in helping students and staff at the university's Community Advanced Data and Research Analysis (CADRA) Project.
"We built MyResearcher.com to make analyzing important data easier for companies and organizations who rely on comprehensive, up-to-date metrics to make better, more informed decisions. We couldn't be happier to share this tool with an institution and community that mean so much to us," said Jeremy Aguero, a principal analyst at Applied Analysis. Aguero and fellow principal analyst Brian Gordon are native Nevadans and graduates of 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ.
MyResearcher.com collects thousands of local, regional and national datasets that track key community, economic, fiscal and social service indicators, and it includes flexible tools to track, transform and analyze data.
Using data from MyResearcher.com, the CADRA Project will add a new campus resource for data management and analysis for research and academic projects and other data-intensive endeavors. CADRA also offers grant-writing support for 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ students and faculty, and for partner organizations.
"The expansive data collection provided by MyResearcher.com will give faculty and students access to data to aid research and academic publication efforts, which will push 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ toward its goal of becoming a top tier research institution," said Thomas Piechota, 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's vice president for research and economic development. "Our students will also be able to develop and hone critical research and analysis skills that will improve their employment prospects after college."
The CADRA Project is overseen by the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Greenspun College of Urban Affairs' Nonprofit, Community, and Leadership Initiative (NCLI), which developed the project in partnership with Applied Analysis and 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's School of Environmental and Public Affairs. The project's first initiative will involve tracking and analyzing data on behalf of nonprofit agencies. The CADRA Project will help nonprofits create programs based on needs identified by data trends. Specific metrics will also help them measure effectiveness of their programs. Data analysis will also help nonprofits improve their chances of acquiring additional grant funding.

Under its agreement with 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, Applied Analysis is providing access to MyResearcher.com at no charge. In exchange, 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ will host the website at its National Supercomputing Center at Switch. Applied Analysis will also gain important input from students and faculty that will help develop technological advancements for MyResearcher.com.
