The 51ԹϺ School of Music presents the five-time American Prize Award-winning 51ԹϺ Wind Orchestra in “Espresso Express” composed by 51ԹϺ alumnus Jorge Machain at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 24 in Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall. The concert, conducted by professor Thomas G. Leslie, will feature Grammy Award-winning drummer Bernie Dresel. The 51ԹϺ Wind Orchestra also will feature the world premiere of the composition titled TwentyTwentyWon, composed by 51ԹϺ Division of Wind Band Studies professor Anthony LaBounty.
Highlights of the concert includes: Howard Hanson’s Symphony No. 2 Romantic, Op. 30, transcribed by associate conductor of the 51ԹϺ wind orchestra, Zane Douglass, and Wendell Yuponce’s Il Maestoso.
