Author Marc Reisner will lead a "community conversation" on water issues in the Las Vegas Valley and throughout the West on March 18 at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ.
Reisner is the author of "Cadillac Desert" and the featured narrator of the four-part PBS series by the same name. He will lead a panel of local experts through a discussion of a variety of water issues.
The public is invited to attend this free event, which will take place from 7 p.m. to8:30 p.m. in the Classroom Building Complex, Room A-112. Free parking will be available in the nearby "red" lot at the Thomas & Mack Center.
Others participating in the conversation will be Pat Mulroy, general manager of the Southern Nevada Water Authority; Jim Deacon, chair of 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's environmental studies program; and Chris Chairsell, provost of the Charleston campus of the Community College of Southern Nevada and former president of AquaVision.
