University Police Services News
University Police Services is responsible for providing both police and security services to the College of Southern Nevada, Desert Research Institute, Nevada State University, and 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ campus communities. Our services include, but are not limited to, patrol services (auto, bicycle, foot, police cart), lost and found services, student security escort services, and safety education. We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Frank and Estella Beam Hall at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ appears to look the same. Look closely, however, and you’ll notice the differences. About eight months after an active shooter on Dec. 6, 2023, killed three professors and wounded another in Beam Hall, the building is reopening for 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’s fall semester with $38 million in enhanced safety measures.
The fall semester here at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ begins on Aug. 26. That will be the first time students will be returning to Beam Hall. It's been closed since the shooting on Dec. 6, and staff has been working hard to make sure students and faculty feel safe.
