2025 Distinguished Professor Award Recipient Announced

The recipient of the 2025 Distinguished Professor Award is Louis Kavouras, chair of the Department of Dance for more than 30 years. Under his extraordinary leadership and dedication, 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’s Department of Dance has been recognized as one of the top ten dance programs in the nation. His nominators describe Chair Kavouras as a brilliant visionary who greatly enhances the life of the College of Fine Arts and 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ on many levels.
 
The Distinguished Professor Award was established in 1986 to recognize and reward faculty members who have achieved national and international distinction. Awardees receive a plaque and an increase in their base salary. This award is administered through the Office of Faculty Affairs

Kavouras and other award recipients will be honored in 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’s 2025 Academic Achievement Award Ceremony on Wednesday, April 23, at 3 p.m. in the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Foundation Building, Blasco Wing.
