Students who explore the collections preserved by find a window into understanding the history and continuing importance of the Las Vegas Valley, gaming and gambling, and the cultures and communities of the region.
The Libraries would like to support faculty who engage students with these unique cultural and historical records. We're recruiting a cohort of 8 faculty to spend two days together planning individual assignments for a course they are scheduled to teach in spring 2025.
The retreat will provide time and space to work independently selecting material for students and to receive feedback from colleagues on an assignment you design using primary source materials from Special Collections & Archives. Participants will receive a $500 honorarium and will be invited to share insights about how the assignment worked at the end of the semester.
