Biography
Amelia Black, Ph.D., is the Director of Clinical Services, Interdisciplinary Training and Research at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ PRACTICE, an innovative interdisciplinary community mental health clinic that provides robust advanced clinical training and evidence-based mental health services. Black originally joined 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ PRACTICE in 2018 as a postdoctoral fellow with a specific emphasis in group psychotherapy. Her current position includes oversight of day-to-day clinical and administrative operations as well as coordination of training and research activities that take place at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ PRACTICE.
Black received her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Brigham Young University in 2018. She is a licensed psychologist and a certified group psychotherapist (CGP). Black has been involved in professional service leadership with several organizations, including the Nevada Psychological Association, American Group Psychotherapy Association, and American Psychological Association Division 49 (Society of Group Psychology and Group Psychotherapy). Currently, Black serves as secretary for Division 49.
